Prezident B Erkel ..."Did I do That?"

Clueless in Washington, Prezident Erkel claimed in his speech last night that he has saved or "created" 150,000 new jobs since being in office.
This comes on top of a report from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics released earlier this month showing that the U.S. has lost more than 1.2 million jobs since President Barack Obama was sworn into office... a net loss of still over 1million jobs.... since January, under Obama/Erkel.

Next Prez Erkel claimed “We inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit. That wasn’t me.”

When in fact, (Associated Press fact check ) "Congress controls the purse strings, not the president, and it was under Democratic control for Obama’s last two years as Illinois senator. Obama supported the emergency bailout package in President George W. Bush’s final months — a package Democratic leaders wanted to make bigger."

He’s persuaded Congress to expand children’s health insurance, education spending, health information technology and more. He’s moving ahead on a variety of big-ticket items on health care, the environment, energy and transportation that, if achieved, will be more enduring than bank bailouts and aid for homeowners.

The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimated his policy proposals would add a net $428 billion to the deficit over four years, even accounting for his spending reduction goals. Now, the deficit is nearly quadrupling to $1.75 trillion.

When asked about these facts, Prez Erkel responded... oh wait, he was never asked about these facts by the adoring, loving, enchanted media... never mind.

Mexico Flu Overated, Overstated and Over-hyped, Scientists Say

LA TIMES- As the World Health Organization raised its infectious disease alert level Wednesday and health officials confirmed the first death linked to swine flu inside U.S. borders, scientists studying the virus are coming to the consensus that this hybrid strain of influenza -- at least in its current form -- isn't shaping up to be as fatal as the strains that caused some previous pandemics.

In fact, the current outbreak of the H1N1 virus, which emerged in San Diego and southern Mexico late last month, may not even do as much damage as the run-of-the-mill flu outbreaks that occur each winter without much fanfare.

Veep Biden's Solution for Mexican Flu? "Don't fly" ...Hide In Your Basement

Not to be outdone by Prezident Barack Erkel's latest bonehead move of flying a 747 with F16's flanking it over the 9-11 site and around NYC without thinking anyone might freak out... Vice President Joe Biden now says he would advise his family to avoid all places where they are in close contact with others to deal with the Mexican Flu outbreak.

"I would tell members of my family, and I have, I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now."
- VP Joe Biden

Biden says to quit flying... (which should stimulate the struggling airline industry), avoid subways, trains and cabs and according to this logic... elevators and office buildings, schools etc. In other words, stay home and hide in your basement... unless you don't have a basement, then just stay home. And don't wear one of those surgical masks. According to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano those masks are "too intimidating" for US border agents to wear, so forget about that.

If this were President Bush, the media would blame him solely for the the flu outbreak, for no vaccine and for no plan to deal with it except ... "don't fly" and hide in your basement.

Too Far To the What?

There is a popular Democrat talking point picked up by none other than Arlen Specter upon his announcement that he is actually not a Republican but a Democrat because the party has moved "too far to the right".

One only has to look back to last November to realize just how insane this argument is.

Republicans selected Presidential candidate John McCain who is among the most left leaning Republicans out there... he campaigned with former Democrat VP candidate Joe Lieberman for crying out loud... remember?

The left is trying to completely destroy the right... one way to do that is to make the right look like the extreme and hide the fact that the Democrats are the party that has suddenly jumped to the extreme left. So the next time you hear someone say the Republican party has move too far to the right... ask them to name a single issue that Republicans today are to the right of Republicans of 1984 and Ronald Reagan on. That oughta' shut 'em up for a nano-second.

Then remind them that they are saying this at a time when our country is being converted to socialism by Democrats and the left then tell me again how Republicans are "too far" to the right.

Arlen Specter 'Outs' Himself

Former Republican (In Name Only), Arlen Specter has announced he is actually a Democrat.... (shocking) this is sorta' like Richard Simmons suddenly announcing he is gay isn't it?

Goodbye Specter... and good riddance, you won't be missed.

Has anyone heard from Olympia Snow (R?) or Susan Collins (R?) lately?
C'mon step up to the plate.... boys and girls, we wanna make sure we know exactly WHO is on board with this runaway insane Obama-train and who opposed this insanity when election time rolls around.

Giving Democrats a virtual filibuster proof majority at a time when they are already on an out of control spending frenzy is worse than irresponsible and should be the last thing Arlen Specter does to end and benchmark his career in politics before being retired by voters soon.

....Did I Do That?

On "Torture", What Would You Do to save a loved one?

I heard someone say that they don't consider themselves a cannibal, but if given the circumstances and they were in a plane crash in the remote mountains... and looking at starvation, then you just might end up being dinner.

This is how it is on "torture".

If you are against waterboarding, putting crickets in with someone who thinks they are poisonous and other so-called "enhanced interrogation techniques", then please read on an answer my question honestly.

For this example, you get a phone call that a loved-one has been kidnapped and is being held hostage in a building that has been identified with a bomb in it and there is no way out without setting off the bomb.

Authorities have captured one of the leaders of the group who knows exactly where in the building your loved-one is being held and how to save him/her... for now, but time is running out for your loved-one in terms of ever hoping to find him/her (or disarm the bomb) and he refuses to talk.

To save your loved-one, would you authorize
A: Strongly encouraging or begging him to save your loved-one?
B: Using any means possible (including phony poison crickets) to save your loved-ones?

If you answered "B", then why would you deny this same thing to save other parents and children?

We are not a nation that routinely tortures people, but given the right circumstances I think that we would all do it to save a loved one.... I know I would in a heartbeat.

Semi-Annual World-Wide Flu Scare "Crisis"

Remember when we had the last big flu scare?
Bird flu... right?
The left blamed President Bush for "shortages" on vaccine that actually were never a factor in controlling the flu nor resulted in any significant outbreaks here in the US.

We get a flu scare every few years that I recall dating back to the 70's....

Mexico?
Mexico City Like Ghost Town

I hate be the one to break the news, but I think they have MUCH bigger problems than the flu to worry about in Mexico. They've had probably 10x as many people die from getting their throats cut in the current drug cartel's war on the Mexican government as from the flu.

Americans should have been warned NOT to travel to Mexico months ago.... but not because of "Montezuma's revenge" or the flu.

But no. Why?

Hide and watch.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and the Obama administration are setting themselves up to "never let a crisis go to waste" at the expense of using the flu as the "fear" to take our minds off his socialist march on Industry etc. and focusing on the critical almost emergency need for government run, socialized, nationalized health care.
We will probably be hearing very-very soon about the need for nationalized health care to deal with things like this flu crisis etc. etc etc.

cough cough... and continue to hear very little about the virtual civil war bloodbath going on south of our border... and not hearing a single word or peep about SECURING that border.

USA is The Cause of Many World Problems

Many people (including many on the left right here in America) believe that we (the USA) are the cause of many of the world problems throughout history and today as well.

This is true.

If not for the meddling of the United States, Nazi Germany and Communist Japan and perhaps even the USSR would have fought it out amongst themselves for world domination decades ago.

If not for the United States, Saddam Hussein would be still running things..... including Kuwait and in a nuclear arms race with Iran or worse.

If not for the United States, Islam would have destroyed Israel decades ago.... and would be decades ahead of where it is now on the road to Islamic domination of the world.

If not for the USA... there would be no South Korea and N Korea would be the nuclear world power it dreams of being.

If not America, those who have hope for survival and freedom would not even think of such things, for such things cause many "problems" for potbellied dictators and global thugs.

Yeah... America has been a big problem... for evil men to deal with that is.
America has been a major problem for Communism, Nazism, Fascism and a huge problem for radical Islam for the past 7 years.... until now that is.

Now there is hope for them. You see, "Change" is on the way.
The Obama administration is cuddling up to Communist Cuba, Socialist Venezuela, Islamic Iran and every other despot and potbellied dictator in the universe he can dig up.

So... I guess America is officially not the problem with the world anymore, huh?
Problem solved, chalk one up to Obama.

Mark My Words

If the Obama administration and Democrats proceed with plans to prosecute Bush admin officials for methods of interrogation that at the time were not considered "torture" by those same Democrats who now are calling it "torture", it will in deed be the beginning of the end for the Obama era.

Americans will not tolerate that level of hypocrisy, deceit and political retaliation from any administration... not even the first black President.

George W Bush kept us safe following Sept 11 2001, and any attempt by the left to turn that into a criminal action will be met with a swift and overwhelming reaction from Americans the likes of which Democrats have never seen before.... 2010 and 2012 will be landslides and in fact it may just put Republicans (the adults) back in power for generations to come.

Go ahead Obama and company... I dare ya'.

Gore and Democrats Continue Global Warming Hoax, Plan Tax Increases

Gore Pleads for Unity on Climate, Despite Divide.
WASHINGTON – FormerVicePresidentAlGore, the leading American voice on climate change, urged lawmakers Friday to overcome partisan differences and take action to reduce greenhousegases, but Democrats and Republicans sparred even more vigorously over the cost of dealing with global warming.
"This bill is an energy tax, an energy tax punishes senior citizens, it punishes rural Americans, if you use electricity it punishes you. This bill will increase your cost of living and may kill your job." -Newt Gingrich (R) Ga. and Former Speaker of the House.

REPORT: Democrats Refuse to Hear Opposing Science at Climate Hearings.

Washington, DC -- UK's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.

“The House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”

Obama Administration Won't Stand-up to China

From One News Now.com
By Jim Brown

A former Republican presidential candidate says the Obama administration, just like the Bush administration, is attempting to "soft-pedal" a concerted Chinese effort to transplant the industrial base of the United States into China.

Last week the Treasury Department claimed in a report to Congress that no major U.S. trade partner, including China, had manipulated its exchange rate to gain an unfair competitive advantage. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner has apparently backtracked from testimony he gave in January during his Senate confirmation hearing, when he claimed China manipulated its currency.

Former Republican presidential candidate and California Congressman Duncan Hunter says the Obama administration is taking the easy way out with communist China, just as the Bush administration did.

"When President Bush's financial leadership went to China, at one point they had stated that this manipulation of the currency amounted to a subsidy, which is exactly what it is because it enables them to undersell and undercut American products by artificially lowering their currency," he notes. "When the speech was actually given in China, the word 'subsidy' had been removed by the American bureaucrats. They didn't want to anger the Chinese because they hold such a massive portion of the Americans' debt."

Hunter says the Treasury Department's stance on China is a "classic example" of an administration that talked tough on China when running for office, but since assuming office has not been able to "stand up" to the Chinese.

Note: During the 2008 Presidential campaign Duncan Hunter was the only candidate outlining the problems with China and how to solve them by leveling the trading field on American produced goods. -red

Sec of Homeland Security on 9-11: "Blame Canada.... Then Apologize"

"The Border For Dummies"

National Post Editorial Board- Canada:

Can someone please tell us how U. S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano got her job? She appears to be about as knowledgeable about border issues as a late-night radio call-in yahoo.

In an interview broadcast Monday on the CBC, Ms. Napolitano attempted to justify her call for stricter border security on the premise that "suspected or known terrorists" have entered the U. S. across the Canadian border, including the perpetrators of the 9/11 attack.

All the 9/11 terrorists, of course, entered the United States directly from overseas. The notion that some arrived via Canada is a myth that briefly popped up in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, and was then quickly debunked.

Informed of her error, Ms. Napolitano blustered: "I can't talk to that. I can talk about the future. And here's the future. The future is we have borders."

Just what does that mean, exactly?

Just a few weeks ago, Ms. Napolitano equated Canada's border to Mexico's, suggesting they deserved the same treatment. Mexico is engulfed in a drug war that left more than 5,000 dead last year, and which is spawning a spillover kidnapping epidemic in Arizona. So many Mexicans enter the United States illegally that a multi-billion-dollar barrier has been built from Texas to California to keep them out.

In Canada, on the other hand, the main problem is congestion resulting from cross-border trade. Not quite the same thing, is it?

Why Does Obama Smile at Dictators?

From "No Holds Barred": By "The picture of the president of the United States smiling broadly as he met President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela startled me. Our president is a nice guy. Chavez is anything but.

In spite of a presidential term limit of six years, Chávez has suggested that he would like to remain in power for 25 years. Hmmm. An autocratic dictator who abuses human rights and undermines democracy being warmly embraced by the American president. There's something wrong with that picture.

Then there was the incident of President Barack Obama seeming to bow before King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at the G-20 summit in London. The president's people denied it was a bow, but it certainly was a sign of great deference from the American president to the dictator of a country who just six weeks ago sentenced a 75-year-old woman to 40 lashes for having been secluded with her nephew after he delivered bread to her home. This is the same Abdullah whom, when asked why Saudi Arabia prohibits the public practice of religions other than Islam, said, "It is absurd to impose on an individual or a society rights that are alien to its beliefs or principles."

Obama is also pursuing a renewed relationship with Cuba, a country which engages in systemic human rights abuses, including torture, arbitrary imprisonment, unfair trials and extrajudicial executions. Censorship is so extensive that Cubans face five-year prison sentences for connecting to the Internet illegally. And not only is emigration illegal, but even discussing it carries a six-month prison sentence.

WATCHING ALL THIS, I was wondering what the new standards were. How oppressive must a leader be before we determine that he has not merited a hug by the democratic standard-bearer of the free world, the president of the United States?

And if Obama feels that he has to be the one to greet a man like Chavez, must it be with the kind of ear-to-ear grin that one might show girl scouts selling cookies?

It must surely be disheartening for those who suffer oppression in countries like Venezuela, Cuba and Saudi Arabia to see the American president backslapping their oppressors when these victims have always looked up to the United States as their champions.
LIKE MANY AMERICANS, I have been awed by our president's capacity to draw those who hate us near. He is a man of considerable charm and grace. But I have to admit that I am increasingly troubled by his seeming inability to call out rogue dictators.

While he was campaigning for the presidency, Obama promised, "As president I will recognize the Armenian genocide." But in a press conference in Ankara with President Abdullah Gul, he refused to use the word "genocide" when challenged by a reporter on the issue.

ALL THIS LEADS to one important question.
Suppose Obama succeeds in building friendships with Chavez, Castro, Ahmadinejad and the Taliban. What then?
Does America still get to feel that it stands for something?
Will we still be the beacon of liberty and freedom to the rest of the world, or will we have sold out in the name of political expediency?
And do any of us seriously believe that presidential friendship is going to get a megalomaniac like Hugo Chavez to ease up on the levers of power, or are we just feeding his ego by showing him he can be a tyrant and still have a beer with the president of the United States?
Will the Iranians really stop enriching uranium through diplomacy rather than economic sanctions?" -BY

Liberal Intolerance #125: Same Sex Marriage Now Litmus Test Issue

Posted by: Evrviglnt on Monday, April 20th, 2009

The gorgeous Miss California was a favorite to win the Miss America contest, and if she were being judged by average Americans, she’d be wearing the crown. But she wasn’t being judged by average Americans, instead a gay judge asked her if she supported same sex marriage and when she said she didn’t, her chances of victory went up in smoke. Why? Do Americans support same sex marriage? No. Do Californians? No. Does Hollywood and the cultural left that infect our media? Yes, and for that reason, Carrie Prejean was called a “dumb bitch” by the gay activist judge and blogger Perez Hilton.

How tolerant!

“The way miss California answered her question lost her the crown, without a doubt!” Perez told Access Hollywood after the pageant. “Never before that I’m aware of has a contestant been booed at Miss USA.

Was she booed? Watch the Youtube video and judge for yourself…

Don’t you love that sour face Perez Hilton makes when she delivers her answer!

I think she was cheered for her courage - she had to have known that the answer would be unpopular with the anointed crowd. But she stuck to her ideals. That’s more than we can say for Rick Warren!

By the way - what the hell is a gay guy doing judging a female beauty contest? What makes him more skilled at judging the beauty of the opposite sex than any average guy on the street? Just the fact that he was a judge ought to reveal to America that the organizers of the event are hard core political activists who sought out an affirmative action seat for ‘teh gays.’ Why not pick a lesbian for the seat? At least she wouldn’t be grossed out by a woman in a bikini!

Providing his students with perhaps the greatest example ever of plain old bad blogging and tactless partisanship, with a dose of hatred, he tells us the "lesson" we should learn from the OKC bombing is that conservative ideology is what caused that horrible act... this comes of course from the same guy who refuses to admit what the lesson from September 11, 2001 is, who attacked us, or even use the words Islamic Extremism... and same the guy who I'm sure thinks of domestic terrorist/college professor Bill Ayers as a role model.

The New Gorbachev?

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama has gone abroad and gored an ox—the deeply held belief that the United States does not make mistakes in dealings with either friends or foes.

And in the process, he's taking a huge gamble both at home and abroad, for a payoff that could be a long time coming, if ever.

By way of explanation, senior adviser David Axelrod describes the president's tactics this way: "You plant, you cultivate, you harvest. Over time, the seeds that were planted here are going to be very, very valuable."

While historic analogies are never perfect, Obama's stark efforts to change the U.S. image abroad are reminiscent of the stunning realignments sought by former Soviet leader Michael Gorbachev. During his short—by Soviet standards—tenure, he scrambled incessantly to shed the ideological entanglements that were leading the communist empire toward ruin.

Obama, Chávez and a New Approach to the World

The Washington Post

By Dan Balz
President Obama's weekend of summitry in Latin America will be remembered most for his cordial encounter with Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. The images of that smiling handshake spoke vividly to the changes Obama is bringing to U.S. relations abroad.

The underlying question in all this is whether Obama's approach means the United States will be dealing out of a position of strength or weakness as the new administration confronts problems ranging from Iran's nuclear ambitions to Middle East peace to better relations in this hemisphere. Does Obama's desire to deal more cordially with leaders who are hostile to the United States make him more or less likely to achieve the country's strategic goals in tough negotiations?

PROOF National Socialized Health Care is a FAILED System

National Socialized Health Care Doesn't Work and is in fact much WORSE than America's free market health-care system.

Obama koolaid drinking socialists and leftwing bloggers are either misguided or simply liars when they tell you that Nationalized Socialized Government Run Health Care is better than a free market healthcare system.

If you don't believe it, just read what those who are experiencing it have to say about it.

Things our Democrat controlled press won't tell you about Nationalized Health Care.

From "The Problems With Socialized Health Care".

Straight from the newspapers

UK:

Other European Countries:

CANADA:
Parliament unanimously passed the Canada Health Act in 1984 and established a single-payer, publicly-financed health care system. To ensure a true government monopoly (is there any other kind?) Canadian provinces outlawed private health insurance.

Chaoulli v. Quebec UPDATE (June 9, 2005): In a 4 to 3 decision, the Canadian Supreme Court struck down Quebec's law that prohibits private medical insurance.

U.S. Patients have Greater Access to Advanced Medical Technology Than Do Canadians

CUBA

The Cuban Government has implemented a two-tiered medical system (e.g. "medical apartheid") that caters to foreign tourists while denying native Cubans access to basic medical necessities (at least it is "free" to them). This attempt to draw foreign dollars is one of many programs that were necessary once the Soviet subsidies ended in the early nineties.
NEW ZEALAND:

New Zealand's Ministry of Health is the New Zealand "Government's principal agent and advisor on health and disability."
AUSTRALIA:
Australia's universal health care scheme is relatively new (introduced in 1983, which built on the 1974 Medibank program). As with all socialized health care systems, there is a mixture of public versus private care (approximately 30% of Australians also retain private health insurance). As a result, the private patients receive better care than their medicare counterparts.

The salary caps and artificial increase in demand for care that always occur in a national health care system are resulting in predictable physician shortages.

US PROBLEMS CAUSED BY GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION:
All of the pervasive problems within the U.S. health care system are a direct result of statism. Unfortunately, most Americans buy into the feel-good soundbites and look to the socialist utopia to provide answers, not understanding that additional government intervention always worsens the problems.

Not even the so-called experts who villify capitalism understand the difference between Statism/socialism and liberty (see Dr. Arnold S. Relman's For-Profit Health Care: Expensive, Inefficient and Inequitable, in which he refers to "HMOs that would be paid by the government" as "care under the private system").

Yet liberals, lefties, socialists and Democrats alike are all panting and chanting for socialized medicine.
